UK anti-terrorism lunacy

Wow, and I though we had it bad with the political correct agenda is pushed into our police and military. It seem the UK has it worse. From The Conservative Voice:

In a move said by many to be at the very least counter-productive, UK police have agreed to brief a council of UK Islamic leaders before conducting future anti-terrorism raids. The plan is reported to have been proposed by the Metropolitan police and the Muslim Safety Forum (MSF), which employs measures to improve police-Muslim relations. Indicating that the Muslim panel will now be consulted before any anti-terrorism raids take place, Chairman of the MSF Azad Ali said: “The major concern that came to us from Muslims was that the intelligence was flawed. The raid was on assumption and nothing else. This will allow independent scrutiny of intelligence.”

That’s remarkable stupid. Can you say conflict of interest? Heaven forbid the UK continues in its successes by find and capturing terrorists before they strike.

I hope the British people smack this one down as the foolishness that it is.

Gitmo: It’s a prison you stupid liberals!

An article in the LA Times is enough to get me fuming mad, I cannot imagine the effect on the service men and women who are the primary target of the text. Some excepts from the article:

With the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, authorities at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp have stepped up efforts to teach guards about the religious observance, amid signs that radical strains of Islam are becoming a potent organizing tool at the facility.

A court challenge filed late last week in U.S. District Court in Washington accused the U.S. of illegally denying detainees access to Muslim chaplains, who some religious leaders argue could help calm tensions inside the barbed wire. The motion was supported by one of the largest Muslim advocacy organizations in the country.

So what the LA Times is saying is we need the guards who guard known terrorists to be more sensitive and considerate. Afterall, it is not like these are people who are sworn to destroy our way of life.

In the court challenge filed Friday in Washington on behalf of a Pakistani detainee, attorney Gaillard T. Hunt said Muslim chaplains would help reduce suicide attempts among detainees, a problem that has fueled calls in the U.S. and abroad to close the camp.
An official with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, as well as two Muslim chaplains who work in the federal prison system, filed declarations in support of the motion. They, along with a third chaplain, said they were willing to counsel prisoners at Guantanamo.

That these organizations are embroiling our courts into defending the enemy is ludicrous. These are prisoners of war who, had they any desire to peacefully practice there religion, would not be in prison in the first place.

Moreover we already saw that Muslim Chaplains working in that environment are very likely to be working with detainees.

We need to spend less time concerned about the welfare and comfort of our enemies and realize that they are terrorists and should be treated as such. Even that is more than we would get where the tables turned.

The UN: End it or Mend it

I already posted my anti-UN message for the day, but I did want to provide a link to a very excellent article by Joe Mariani in The Conservative Voice. His critique of the UN is much more detailed and linked than mine (he is the professional, after all), and worth the time to read it.

Every year, thousands of lives are lost to the UN’s corruption and vacillation, and untold numbers of crimes, large and small, are committed by its representatives. I’m not just talking about the reams of unpaid parking tickets issued annually by the NYC police, either. More than 800,000 Tutsi and Hutu died in Rwanda in 1994 while UN troops watched, prevented from acting by layers of bureacracy and a divided Security Council. Thousands of Bosnian Muslims were slaughtered by Serbs in Srebrenica while UN observers, well, observed. More recently, UN peacekeepers watched as Hizballah terrorists launched rockets attacks against Israeli civilians on a daily basis, even reporting that Hizballah “fired from the vicinity of five UN positions” in July 2006. Indeed, the UN’s legacy of inaction is exceeded in criminality only by its actions.

Here is the Link.

Iraq Intelligence report Declassified

Well here did. President Bush today ordered the Iraq Intelligence Report declassified. The following from Reuters:

Bemoaning an election-year leak, President George W. Bush on Tuesday said he would declassify a secret terrorism document that included a judgment the Iraq war had spread Islamic extremism.

At a news conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Bush said political opponents had disclosed only select parts of the National Intelligence Estimate, a U.S. global report on terrorism, and he decided to make the document public so “you read it for yourself.”

While I look forward to reading the report, I am a bit disturbed that the push to relase the report was purely political, and to respond to Democratic positioning. It is also important to note that, since the report was only just declassified, those in the Democratic Party who originally released select parts of the report had released classified data. Didn’t we just get done with a classified data leak? I hope the liberal media picks up the gauntlet on this one and pursues the Dems as much as they did the Bush Administration of the Valarie Plame leak.

Once we have access to the report I will be sure and post a more balanced view of its content.

Olbermann vs. Fox

I was about to write a scathing review of Olbermann’s comments regarding the Clinton Interview on MSN last night when I found the following on the Rightwingnuthouse – I could not have said it better myself.

Judging by some of the jaw droppers unleashed by the Unhinged One during his confused and typically shallow critique of Fox News, conservatives, Republicans, the Bush Administration, and the press, MSNBC should probably initiate drug screenings for its on air talent at the earliest possible moment. Either that or someone should make sure that Keith is still taking his Lithium religiously for it is apparent the reality Keith is experiencing is on some other plane of existence than the rest of us.

AP = Amoral propagandists

I picked up the attached from Stoptheaclu.org, who onward references the Boston Herald. Surprise, the Associate Press is biased and conspiring with terrorists.

The Associated Press, the reliable just-the-facts news agency you and I once knew, no longer exists. Amoral propagandists have taken over.  It is not only in the disturbing matter of Bilal Hussein, AP photograher and al-Qaeda associate, being held without charge in U.S. custody in Iraq that this is evident. But also in the departure from balanced, nonpartisan coverage that has always been the AP’s promise to us, its customers…

I look at Hussein’s photos. Terrorists trying to kill Americans. Terrorists posing with dead civilians. Bilal Hussein knows things about these men, who they are, how they operate. I’m thinking, Bilal Hussein looks like an accessory to murder. I’m thinking, I hope the U.S. intelligence agents who have him are getting good information out of him. And I’m wondering, who does The Associated Press want to win this war?

I am sure we could find some room for this guy it Gitmo.

U.N. envoy says Gaza a prison for Palestinians

Some people, notably among the ranks of the “United Nations”, just don’t get it. The following is some excerpts from a recently posted Reuters article:

Israel has turned the Gaza Strip into a prison for Palestinians where life is “intolerable, appalling, tragic” and the Jewish state appears to have thrown away the key, a U.N. human rights envoy said on Tuesday.

U.N. special reporter on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory John Dugard said that the suffering of the Palestinians was a test of the readiness of the international community to protect human rights.

“If … the international community cannot … take some action, (it) must not be surprised if the people … disbelieve that they are seriously committed to the promotion of human rights,” he told the United Nations’ Human Rights Council.

It seems the UN special reporter missed the fact that the Palestinians are not governed by an ineffectual PM, and have elected a terrorist group, into power. Even the text of the report shows an unbelievable anti-Israel bias (i.e. Occupied Palestinian Territory).

It may do the UN well to read up on some history. I recommend this article as a quick history lesson on what Palestine really is.

The fact of the matter is that the Palestinians are not interested in peaceful coexistence with the Jews, and never have been. The Hamas government refuses to recognize Isreal at all, and seem intent only on destructions.

Israel has every right to protect itself, the consequence of having no wall and no patrolled borders is the blood of its people.

Thank You Mr. Ex-President Clinton

I got this in the e-mail today from a buddy of mine - I hope you enjoy it. Hat tip to the anonymous author, whoever you are.

Dear Mr. Ex President Clinton:

I recently saw a bumper sticker that said, “Thank me, I voted for Clinton-Gore.” So, I sat down and reflected on that, and I am sending my “Thank you” for what you have done, specifically:

1. Thank you for introducing us to Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broderick. Did I leave anyone out?

2. Thank you for teaching my 8 year old about oral sex. I had really planned to wait until he was a little older to discuss it with him, but now he knows more about it than I did as a senior in college.

3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the work place (especially the White House) and on the job is OK, and all you have to know is what the meaning of “it” is. It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are not sex, and one person may have sex while the other one does NOT have sex.

4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment to a new generation and demonstrating that the ridiculous plot of the movie “Wag the Dog” could be plausible after all.

5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral.

6. Thank you for the 73 House and Senate witnesses who have pled the 5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the country to avoid testifying about Democratic campaign fund raising.

7. Thank you, for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4 imprisonment’s from the Whitewater “mess” and the 55 criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in the other “Clinton” scandals.

8. Thanks also for reducing our military by half, “gutting” much of our foreign policy, and flying all over the world on “vacations” carefully disguised as necessary trips.

9 Thank you, also, for “finding” millions of dollars (I really didn’t need it in the first place, and I can’t think of a more deserving group of recipients for my hard-earned tax dollars)
for all of your globe-trotting. I understand you, the family and your cronies have logged in more time aboard Air Force One than any other administration.

10. Now that you’ve left the White House, thanks for the 140 pardons of convicted felons and indicted felons-in-exile. We will love to have them rejoin society. (Not to mention the scores you pardoned while Governor of Arkansas)

11. Thanks also for removing the White House silverware. I’m sure that Laura Bush didn’t like the pattern anyway. Also, enjoy the housewarming gifts you’ve received from your “friends.”

12. Thanks to you and your staff in the West Wing of the White House for vandalizing and destroying government property on the way out. I also appreciate removing all of that excess weight (China, silverware, linen, towels, ash trays, soap, pens, magnetic compass, flight manuals, etc.) out of Air Force 1. The weight savings means burning less fuel, thus less tax dollars spent on jet fuel. Thank you!

13. And finally, please ensure that Hillary enjoys the $8 million dollar advance for her “tell-all” book and you, Bill, the $10 million advance for your memoirs. Who says crime doesn’t pay!

14. The last and most important point - thank you for forcing Israel to let Mohammed Atta go free. Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called “political prisoners”. However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, “insisted” that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports. Why shouldn’t Americans know the real truth?

What a guy!!

If you agree that the American public must be made aware of these facts, pass this on.  God bless America and THANK YOU (once again) for spending my taxes so wisely and frugally.

SINCERELY,
A US Citizen
PS. Please pass along a special thank you to Al Gore for “inventing” the Internet, without which I would not be able to send this wonderful, factual e-mail.

A few words on Racial Profiling

First, let me start of by saying I am a young white male, and can accept that my view is not as complete as those who may find themselves repeatedly pulled aside in an Airport Screening line.

However, with that bias acknowledged, I must say I am a bit confused on the issue of Racial Profiling. If, let us say, 80% terrorist attacks on US interests are performed by Middle Eastern males between the age of 18 and 40 – then giving such individuals extra screening is just good sense. It is not discrimination; it is the law of statistics.

I suppose, turning things around, that the same can be said for all those advertisers who insist in sending me information on golf, golf outings, and club memberships. While I have never found golf even the least bit interesting, I do fit into that statistical sample which says I am a likely person to like golf. Is this then, racial profiling?

The ACLU has taken a stance that equates racial profiling with racism, but is this necessarily the case? I agree, there can be racism in racial profiling, but do not believe it is necessarily a part. We cannot set aside our common sense and handicap those who we, the citizens of this great country, have tasked with our protection. If we do, the blood of future innocents is, to some small degree, on the hands of those who prefer comfort and convenience over security.
