Some people, notably among the ranks of the “United Nations”, just don’t get it. The following is some excerpts from a recently posted Reuters article:
Israel has turned the Gaza Strip into a prison for Palestinians where life is “intolerable, appalling, tragic” and the Jewish state appears to have thrown away the key, a U.N. human rights envoy said on Tuesday.
U.N. special reporter on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory John Dugard said that the suffering of the Palestinians was a test of the readiness of the international community to protect human rights.
“If … the international community cannot … take some action, (it) must not be surprised if the people … disbelieve that they are seriously committed to the promotion of human rights,” he told the United Nations’ Human Rights Council.
It seems the UN special reporter missed the fact that the Palestinians are not governed by an ineffectual PM, and have elected a terrorist group, into power. Even the text of the report shows an unbelievable anti-Israel bias (i.e. Occupied Palestinian Territory).
It may do the UN well to read up on some history. I recommend this article as a quick history lesson on what Palestine really is.
The fact of the matter is that the Palestinians are not interested in peaceful coexistence with the Jews, and never have been. The Hamas government refuses to recognize Isreal at all, and seem intent only on destructions.
Israel has every right to protect itself, the consequence of having no wall and no patrolled borders is the blood of its people.

[…] And to think the UN criticized the Israelis for putting a wall up to protect them from these peaceful Palestinians. It was only a matter of time before something like this happens – one dose not elect a violent, armed, terrorist organization to form a government and expect it to be peaceful. […]
