The Noose is Tightening Around the CREW & Crew

This from The Conservative Voice:

The FBI has again asked the left-leaning organization CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) that initially provided it with the Foley Internet missives, for the original copies. CREW, said to be funded by self-avowed leftist billionaire George Soros, is reported to have refused to do so.

Reported by the Washington Post, the FBI advised that the email texts CREW sent were “heavily redacted” and CREW has still refused to provide the FBI with information as to how and from whom the emails were received by the organization.

This latest development, coupled with former Page Jordan Edmund having hired a criminal attorney, is said to lend credence to charges that the Foley sex scandal was orchestrated by the Democrat Party and that the Foley emails and IMs may ‘not be what they seem’.

So we got rid of a scumbag of a congressmen, good. Get rid of CREW, even better. Add a couple of Democrats to the picture and that makes me one happy blogger.

I can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

Carter at it again

Here is one to remind us why Carter was, arguably, the worst president in American History.

From the Herald Tribune:

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said Friday that a foreign policy aimed at punishing the Hamas-led Palestinian government through a seven-month aid freeze has failed, and called on the international community to seek other ways to resolve the conflict.

“The attempt to coerce Hamas leaders by starving the Palestinian people has failed, and it is time for the international community to alleviate their suffering and resort to diplomacy,” Carter said in a statement.

The former president added that he is doubtful that Palestinian leaders will make any progress toward reconciliation with Israel “as long as the Palestinians are subjected to this kind of debasement and personal suffering.”

Is a former president of the US actually asking us to give money to a terrorist organization? The US stance on aid to terrorists organizations, like Hamas, has been clear from day one. The Palestinian people should have been well aware that the US and most western powers would stop any aid to them should them elect terrorists to power.

Moreover the activity of the Hamas lead government, their unwillingness to control insurgents in their mist, their attacks against a Prime Minister who wanted to recognized Israel, and other similar insanities have shown that having the welfare of a people in there hands has done nothing to change the terrorists attitudes at their core.

To give money to Palestine now would only fill the arms locker of the Hamas terrorists. To think that Carter, a former president who should have some clue over the depth of depravity these organizations are capable of, would recommend we fund there ability to attack us and Isreal defies sanity.

Of which Carter seems in short supply.

“A strong peace effort has been absent for the past five years. It is long overdue,” Carter said.

He also pushed for the U.S. or international community to negotiate the exchange of the Israeli soldier for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

Carter was among 135 former world leaders who signed a statement this week calling for “fresh thinking and the injection of new political will” to resolve the conflict between Arabs and Israelis.

“As long as the conflict lasts, it will generate instability and violence in the region and beyond,” it said.

If this man doesn’t realize that the Arab – Israel conflict will last until one side is wiped out, then he is more a moron than I though. The only fresh thinking the Palestinians are going to accept is a better way to kill Israelis.

Muslim Reaction Going Too Far

Here we go again, as Muslims get agitated and the slightest perceived offence. Each offence is less than the last, lets hope the stalls here and no protests come from it.

From the Washington Post:

A senior British cabinet minister said on Friday it would be better if Muslim women did not wear full veils, inflaming anger among the country’s Islamic community and sparking heated debate on social integration.

Leader of the House of Commons Jack Straw provoked a mixture of anger and derision on Thursday after he said the wearing of veils made community relations “more difficult” as they acted as “a visible statement of separation and difference.”

[…]

While British newspapers and commentators applauded Straw’s stance, which he said was designed to provoke a “mature debate,” many Muslims reacted with anger.

Local group the Lancashire Council of Mosques described his comments as “ill-judged and misconceived” and said many women found them “offensive and disturbing.”

So far no calls for Straw’s head at least. I would hope this is a very minor issue which will go no further, but one never knows.

I am, once again, surprised by the Muslim response. There is something cold and calculated about the consistent pushback. The UK is home to almost 2 million Muslim’s.

N. Korea Attention Deficit Disorder

The picture says it all, I think (Hat Tip to Cox and Forkum). Kim Jong-il cannot stand to be out of the international spot light to long. Ever time something happens and the spotlight is off him for to long, he escalates.

You all know about his threat to do a full nuclear test. Well, we can all relax now, the UN has gotten involved.

From Reuters:

At the United Nations late on Thursday, Security Council members reached broad agreement on a statement warning Pyongyang of unspecified consequences if it exploded a nuclear device.

The U.N. text, which was sent to governments for possible changes before further discussions on Friday, urges Pyongyang to cancel its planned test and return immediately to six-country talks aimed at persuading it to abandon nuclear arms.

The statement does not include a U.S. proposal to refer to Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, which lists actions such as sanctions and could ultimately lead to a military strike.

This illustrates exactly the problem with the UN in general, and the Security Council in specific. Statements are next to worthless, especially since they lack any teeth. Mind you have I have not seen the text of the letter, but Chapter 7 of the charter is the only teeth the UN is normally has.

If I was in Japan right now, I would be a bit more nervous.

Top 10 Democrat Scandals

I found this over at Texas Fred’s, who found it over at Espella Humanzee, who found it over at Human Events online. While Foley is still a scumbag, and his actions inexcusable, it dose make me wonder what the fall out would have been like if he was a democrat.

Top 10 Democrat Scandals

10. Sen. Daniel Inouye. The 82-year-old Hawaii Democrat was accused in the 1990s by numerous women of sexual harassment. Democrats cast doubt on the allegations and the Senate Ethics Committee dropped its investigation.

9. Former Rep. Gus Savage. The Illinois Democrat was accused of fondling a Peace Corps volunteer in 1989 while on a trip to Africa. The House Ethics Committee decided against disciplinary action in 1990.

8. Rep. Barney Frank. The outspoken Massachusetts Democrat hired a male prostitute who ran a prostitution service from Frank’s residence in the 1980s. Only two Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to censure him in 1990.

7. Former Sen. Brock Adams. The late Washington Democrat was forced to stop campaigning after numerous accusations of drugging, assault and rape, the first surfacing in 1988.

6. Former Rep. Fred Richmond. This New York Democrat was arrested in 1978 for soliciting sex from a 16-year-old. He remained in Congress and won re-election—before eventually resigning in 1982 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and drug possession.

5. Former Rep. John Young. The late Texas Democrat increased the salary of a staffer after she gave in to his sexual advances. The congressman won re-election in 1976 but lost two years later.

4. Former Rep. Wayne Hays. The late Ohio Democrat hired an unqualified secretary reportedly for sexual acts. Although he resigned from Congress, the Democratic House leadership stalled in removing him from the Administration Committee in 1976.

3. Former Rep. Gerry Studds. He was censured for sexual relationship with underage male page in 1983. Massachusetts voters returned him to office for six more terms.

2. Former Rep. Mel Reynolds. The Illinois Democrat was convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault with a 16-year-old. President Bill Clinton pardoned him before leaving office.

1. Sen. Teddy Kennedy. The liberal Massachusetts senator testified in defense of nephew accused of rape, invoking his family history to win over the jury in 1991.
