Democrats seem manifestly unable to learn from their own mistakes.
Today, on an interview with Fox News Rangel expressed a sentiment very similar to what got Kerry in trouble.

I want to make it abundantly clear: if there’s anyone who believes that these youngsters want to fight, as the Pentagon and some generals have said, you can just forget about it. No young, bright individual wants to fight just because of a bonus and just because of educational benefits. And most all of them come from communities of very, very high unemployment. If a young fella has an option of having a decent career or joining the army to fight in Iraq, you can bet your life that he would not be in Iraq.
They need to work this into a new party slogan or something.
Since it is not the week before the elections, this will probably not resonate with the masses. Which is too bad. It is Ironic that this is the same guy who pushed the Draft. Further it is just stubborn ignorance that keeps Rangel clinging to the faulty and disputed reasoning that insists that it is poverty or lack of an education which keeps our soldiers in uniform.
This guy really needs to get a clue. The Democrats need to keep this guy away from camera’s, he is doing his side more harm that good.
