Well, Mr John “Foot-in-Mouth” Kerry is at it again.
From Reuters:
U.S. Senator John Kerry said on Friday he was willing to go to Tehran to talk to Iranian leaders but would not have time during his current Middle East tour.
“I don’t have time and we were not able to make arrangements in the short timespan we had but I would be willing to go,” he told reporters in Cairo, the first stop on his tour.
Asked if he planned to make a trip later, he said: “At the appropriate time, at some point.”
This is wrong on so many levels - where to start.
First, this has all the markings of the little kid trying to stand up to the bully — from a safe distance. “Yeah, I will go to Iran!” … “some day”. He statement is contradictory, cowardly, and shows, once again, how clueless he is.
Secondly Kerry doesn’t get to decide when it is appropriate to take to foreign powers. He lacks the authority to have discussions and to make agreements that would necessary follow such a discussion. The Justice Department would be justified in jailing the arrogant sob if he ever did make the trip.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said in an interview published on Friday that the United States and Europe must talk to Syria and Iran if they want a comprehensive solution to Iraq and other Middle East conflicts.
Funny how these characters seem so reasonable in quotes by the main stream media while all the time fueling instability in the region, trying to acquire nuclear weapons, and calling for the destruction of Israel.
The U.S. administration of President George W. Bush has argued that high-level talks with Syria are pointless because the Syrians do not respond to U.S. policy requests.
But Kerry said: “That’s a mistake… It is nonsensical to set up not talking as some kind of reward/punishment barrier. I think we are shortchanging ourselves in that process.”
The senator also found fault with Bush’s campaign to make Middle East countries more democratic, which for a time was at the forefront of U.S. diplomatic rhetoric in the region.
“I don’t think it’s been particularly effective, in fact it has been counterproductive in certain quarters. It’s created turmoil and uncertainty,” he said.
Ironic that Kerry, with is history of foot-in-mouth disease, finds it objectionable when someone doesn’t want to talk. Talking to Iran and Syria will only further jeopardize our situation giving this lunatics a veiner of credibility. Talk to unstable countries is akin to talking to insane people — pointless. Kerry should take a lesson from past experience and see the value in shutting up.
Moreover his thoughts that pushing Democracy in the Middle-East is pointless show just how detached from reality this guy is. The US halted the spread of communism but pushing democracy, and we can do the same thing to Islam. Allowing the worlds main supply of oil to spiral into ever widening bands of chaos is not in anyones best interest. The US is just the only country with the guts to do something about it.
