This is something off my normal posting tack, bu is quite impressive. This video is of a woman doing 21 different accents, and doing them all very well.

Preemptive strikes done in support of American policy to hit the Terrorists before they hit us. Good news from the AP:
The U.S. launched an airstrike Monday on a Somali town held by Islamic extremists to go after a group of terrorist suspects, U.S. defense officials said.
Three missiles hit Dobley, a town four miles from the Kenyan border, destroying a home and seriously injured eight people, police and witnesses said. The remnants of an Islamic force that had once ruled much of southern Somalia took over Dobley last week.
“It was a deliberate, precise strike against a known terrorist and his associates,” one U.S. military official said in Washington, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment on the record.
He gave few other details, except to say the targets were believed staying in building known to be used regularly by terrorist suspects.
Naturally there is a fair amount of spin in the AP article - they hate to see Islamic Terrorists get a bad name.
I truly hope this signals a step up in the posture of our anti-terrorism operations. It is important that we get as many of these homicidal Islamic (is that an Oxymoron?) terrorists before we change to a Commander and Chief with no backbone.

I stumbled upon this during my morning tour of the net. The following Video is a guy form the UK who hits the nail on the head with an uncommon frankness. It is worth the time to watch it.
And before you say, “That is Europe, it’s not like that here” - think again. It is not so far off as you may think.
Some of my favorite quotes:
“And any concession made will be seen as a sign of weakness to be exploited further, because there is no dialog with radical Islam. It doesn’t want to be agreed with. It wants to be obeyed.”
“And before somebody accuses me again of insulting Islam, please grow up. I don’t need to insult Islam when there are already so many Muslims willing to do it for me every time they strap on a suicide belt or stone somebody to death for the crime of having a private life.”
I should probably point out that the author, Pat Condell, is not just anti-Islam. He seems to be Anti most things - any religion, the US, Israel, etc. That is his right, and I welcome him to his opinion.

Just watching this video sent a shiver down my spine. Is this guy real? Has he learned nothing from our history, nothing from the millions of American’s who have die in unprovoked attacks?
Be afraid, be very afraid.
Lets look at this point by point.
1. I am the only major candidate who opposed this war from the begining, and as President I will end it.
Of course you will - that is just the sort of short sighted response I would expect. Lets pull out while the tide is shifting, while progress is viable, and before the Iraqi government is in a form where it can sustain itself. Lets ignore that there is a group of religious zealots (of which, I might add, you are one) who are focused on killing us. Lets make sure the world knows we lack the courage of our convictions, and cannot be bothered to stand by our allies.
2. I will cut 10s of Billions of Dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missal defence systems, I will not weaponise space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. I will institute an independent defense priorities board to ensure that the annual (?) defense review is not used to justify unnecessary spending.
Sounds like the anti-gun rhetoric on a larger scale. Have we not leared that relying on the good intentions of others is a risk a country like the United States cannot take? Only from a position of strength can you protect our country, and any candidate who cannot come to that realization should never become Commander and Chief. It is a recipe for disaster, and shows a stunning naivety in the face of our history. Do you really think leaving us defenseless is the way to secure our way of life and our future or do you just think that way of life is not longer worth fighting for?
3. I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal I will not develop new nuclear weapons, I will seek a ban on the production of fissionable material, and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair trigger alert and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Again, the time proven fallacy that we provoke not by our existence but by our armament. And if those radicals continue to hate us, continue to develope nuclear weapons, and continue to attack us - what then?
Obama, you disgust me. You would tear down this great country with your own hands if we let you. I used to think you where just you, inexperienced and naive; but now I know you for a foolish, dangerous, and reckless man who should never hold power. It is not that you are inexperienced, it is that you are intentional. Intentional in the destruction of the American way of life, intentional in the ruin of our greatness, and intentional turning us over to the dogs of Islam.
I will even vote for McCain to keep you out of office.

No, of course it is not real, but it is funny. H/T to however penned it first, it came to me in e-mail without credit.
My fellow Identity-Americans.
As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for their… well, support.
Your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor’s relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.
I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of claiming Bush’s youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.
I would also like to thank the Kennedy’s for coming out in support of me. There’s a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr. and Teddy killed a teenage girl.
And I’m not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively. And I’d like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.
Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good. Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt. I say things that sound meaningful, but don’t really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them. Americans are tired of thinking. It’s time to shut down the brain, and open up the heart. So when you go to vote in the primaries, remember don’t think, just do.
And do it for me.
Thank You.
Barack Hussein Obama

After years and years of hearing about Global Warming, this article was very interesting:
Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966.
The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January and early February. According to the NCDC, the average temperature in January “was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average.”
China is surviving its most brutal winter in a century. Temperatures in the normally balmy south were so low for so long that some middle-sized cities went days and even weeks without electricity because once power lines had toppled it was too cold or too icy to repair them.
[…]
And remember the Arctic Sea ice? The ice we were told so hysterically last fall had melted to its “lowest levels on record? Never mind that those records only date back as far as 1972 and that there is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past.
The ice is back.
Funny we never heard a thing from the MSM on this. After all the years of hype pointed at global warming I guess it is to much to expect a bit of evidence to get in the way.
I wonder what Gore will think… no, never mind, I really don’t care what Gore thinks.
Makes me glad I sold my snow blower and moved to Houston.

Today would have been Ronald Reagan’s 97th Birthday. In honor of his, here are some good quotes from the Gipper. Enjoy!
“Here’s my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose.”
“The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
“The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; It’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”
“Of the four wars in my lifetime none came about because the U.S. was too strong.”
“I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.”
“The taxpayer: That’s someone who works for the federal government but doesn’t have to take the civil service examination.”
“Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.”
“The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program.”
“I’ve laid down the law, though, to everyone from now on about anything that happens: no matter what time it is, wake me, even if it’s in the middle of a Cabinet meeting.”
“It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.”
“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”
“Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book.”
“No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.”
“If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
“Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born.”
“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”
“I don’t believe in a government that protects us from ourselves.”

I took the blog down about a year about so I could pack up, move from Ohio to the fine state of Texas, and spend more time close to my family. I am happy to say that has all be accomplished, and so I am brining the blog back online. Sadly I do not expect to have the same time to post, but I will add posts as and when I see a good opportunity to do so.
I am not so delusional as to think there are people out there that actually missed me - after all, what is one more blog in the world?
